If you’ve never seen Bruno Mars live, these residency shows are some of the best in Vegas. Get ready for a mix of funk, pop, soul, and old-school showmanship! Between shows, fans can visit Pinky Ring, his sleek, retro-style cocktail lounge now open at Bellagio. Tickets here: VEGAS.com / StubHub.
Kendrick Lamar + SZA – Allegiant Stadium | May 31
Grammy-winning hip hop artists Kendrick Lamar and SZA are co-headlining one of the biggest concerts of the year at Allegiant Stadium. Even the most casual of fans will recognize plenty of their chart-topping hits. Tickets here: VEGAS.com / StubHub.
Jimmy O. Yang – Encore Theater | May 2–3
Best known from shows like Silicon Valley and Crazy Rich Asians, comedian Jimmy O. Yang brings his Big & Tall Tour to the luxurious Encore Theater at Wynn. Expect sharp stand-up on dating, growing up Asian American, and the absurdities of Hollywood life. Tickets here: VEGAS.com / StubHub.
Whitney Cummings – The Venetian | May 25
If you like raw, no-holds-barred comedy, Whitney Cummings delivers. She’s been a mainstay on the comedy circuit for years and brings her signature brand of oversharing (in the best way) to this stand-up show inside The Palazzo Theatre on her Big Baby Tour. Tickets here: VEGAS.com / StubHub.
Josh Groban – Caesars Palace | May 9, 10, 14, 16–17
An exclusive Las Vegas engagement! Known for his operatic voice and crossover hits like “You Raise Me Up,” Josh Groban will perform a mix of fan favorites and lesser-known gems in this five-night residency. Tickets here: VEGAS.com / StubHub.
The Empire Strips Back: Opens May 4!
What started as a three-night Star Wars burlesque parody in a tiny Sydney venue is now a full-on galactic phenomenon.
The Empire Strips Back lands at the Rio on Star Wars Day (May 4), bringing campy, cheeky fun to the Strip with an intergalactic cast of characters—including Stormtroopers, droids, and some questionable uses for lightsabers.
I’m sure you’re all wondering about costumes and lightsabers–yes, you are absolutely welcome to bring your lightsaber. Just don’t turn it on during the show. You’re welcome to come dressed as whoever you want.
Free parking is available! Tickets can be purchased here.
Party all night long at EDC

Ok, we’ll admit this 3-day event isn’t for everyone, but it’s one of the biggest reasons why EDM-loving travelers flock to Las Vegas in mid-May!
Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), one of the biggest electronic dance music festivals in the world, is held annually in mid-May in Las Vegas. With multiple over-the-top stages, top DJs from all over the globe, oodles of carnival rides, and immersive art installations, EDC transforms the Las Vegas Motor Speedway into a high-energy wonderland that you have to see to believe.
The KineticFIELD serves as the main stage, occupying approximately half of the Speedway and featuring the biggest names in EDM.
Headliners taking this stage this year include Tiesto, Dom Dolla, RL Grime, Mau P, Yellow Claw, Afrojack, Kaskade and more. There are also seven other stages we haven’t even mentioned!
So yes. This festival is BIG. If you love electronic music, it’s a must-do at least once in your life! You’re guaranteed to meet people from all over the world as it draws music lovers from all over the globe!
Last Chance: Get Your EDC Tickets Now
EDC tickets flew off the shelves this year. The lineup must be great because they SOLD OUT across all ticket tiers, including General Admission, GA+, and VIP. Only resale tickets are available.
EDC Pool Parties
Even if you’re not attending the full Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) festival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, you can still catch the energy right on the Strip.
From May 15–18, Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is hosting official EDC pool parties, bringing DJs, dancers, and EDM fans together in a much more accessible, sun-soaked setting.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo… Vegas-style!
People will find any reason to party in Vegas. So naturally, you already know there’ll be tons of Cinco de Mayo events here!
Looking for low-key, wallet-friendly fun on Cinco de Mayo? Head to The Front Yard at Ellis Island for $5 tacos, $5 margaritas, and live mariachi from 5–8 p.m. It runs all day (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.), so you can swing by whenever you’re ready to fiesta without the chaos of a big Strip event.
Here are some other local Cinco de Mayo events happening all throughout town this year.
Spring Jamboree (Boulder City)
Taking place May 4–5, this charming event has been running for decades and draws thousands to Boulder City, about 30 minutes from Las Vegas.
Held across three different parks, the Spring Jamboree is packed with family-friendly activities—handmade crafts, rock and gem shows, food vendors, carnival-style rides, and even a classic car show.
Offroad Car Show (Mesquite)
On May 9–10, head 80 minutes northeast of Vegas for the Mayhem in Mesquite Car Show and Trail Hero Vendor Show. It’s a must for off-roading enthusiasts, featuring lifted trucks, dune-ready buggies, and the latest in gear and mods.
See the seasonal displays at the Bellagio Conservatory

One must-see attraction in May is the Spring display at the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. The Spring display has got to be my absolute favorite of all the themed displays throughout the year. It’s over-the-top, colorful, and pays homage to flowers, nature, and all things spring!
This year, you’ll find massive butterflies, hummingbirds, flowers, tea cups, and everything you can imagine from a garden tea party. While you’re here, visit the Bellagio Fountains and catch the free water show display.
Experience the show at The Sphere

If you’ve driven on the highways of Las Vegas, chances are you’ve seen The Sphere. With the weather heating up so much this month, spending a few hours indoors with air-conditioning will be a dream.
The Sphere Experience is a two-part multi-sensory experience lasting approximately two hours. In all honesty, it’s two hours of immersive amazement.
Again, there are two parts to the experience. First, you’ll get to explore The Atrium. There’s a 360-degree avatar capture, a mesmerizing 50-foot holographic installation, and a few other cool tech features.
Then, brace yourself for an immersive cinematic experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen with Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Postcard from Earth.’ This specially commissioned film is a sci-fi portrait of our planet, leveraging Sphere’s cutting-edge technologies to transport you to new worlds without ever leaving your seat.
Attend a pool party

Perhaps the most exciting thing about spring (other than seeing the new display at the Bellagio Conservatory of course) is the fact that pool party season is back, baby!
If your idea of an awesome daytime activity includes lounging around the pool, dancing to live music played by top DJs, drinking summer cocktails, and gorging on delicious poolside chicken tenders, then you’ll probably want to plan to hit up a day club on your Vegas trip!
Pool party season at the day clubs runs from April to the end of October. Encore Beach Club at Encore Las Vegas, Daylight at Mandalay Bay, Ayu Dayclub at Resorts World, TAO Beach Club at The Venetian, and WET Republic at MGM Grand are some of the most sought-after pool parties across the Strip.
If you want to live it up Vegas-style, level up by booking a cabana for the ultimate dayclub experience. Only if you’ve got the budget for it, of course.
What does a cabana rental get you?
When you rent out a cabana at a dayclub, you’ll typically get exclusive access to a private shaded area with comfortable seating, including plush sofas and lounge chairs. You’ll also get dedicated waitstaff or hosts who provide exceptional personalized service, including bottle service and assistance with food orders. At some dayclubs, you’ll also find a flat-screen TV (for those of you who want to party and watch the game at the same time) and even water misters to keep you and your squad cool as cucumbers in the desert heat.
Enjoy Durango’s swanky new pool and cocktail bar

Bel-Aire Backyard, Durango Casino’s brand-spankin’-new backyard pool area, invites guests to indulge in the ultimate poolside oasis. With more than 65,000 square feet, the backyard will host live DJ sets from noon to sunset from Thursdays through Sundays as well as Friday sunset parties.
The 7,200-square-foot pool houses 13 cabanas, 46 daybeds, and nearly 60 chaise lounges — set just above the water. The whole venue is a vibe, instantly transporting you into hip, ritzy, and glam part of Los Angeles. It almost feels like a movie set!
If you get hungry, The Backyard Grill caters to the pool area with many creative menu items like miso sea bass lettuce cups, watermelon and cucumber salad, crab and avocado salad, and sushi dishes.
On Sundays, you’ll find their epic Poolside brunch with a high-energy party atmosphere, perfect for those of you celebrating birthdays or bachelorette parties!

See a Las Vegas show

Being outside in Vegas is hard with the desert sun beaming down all day. And one can only gamble and pool so much during the day. May is the perfect time to stay indoors and catch some of the shows the city is famous for!
Las Vegas has a world-class theater scene. From burlesque to magic, Cirque de Soleil to comedy, there is a show for every type of person and every sort of budget. And the best part is, there’s a show happening every single night in Vegas.
A few shows that we think are perfect for May include:
Awakening – The Wynn’s brand-new spectacular production featuring fantastical creatures, dazzling visuals, compelling narrative, and a touch of lighthearted comedy.
Absinthe – Caesars Palace’s daring and provocative Las Vegas show that combines jaw-dropping acrobatics, risqué comedy, and awe-inspiring feats of strength and agility in an immersive circus-style setting.

Oddyssey Noir: Carnivale Noir Warehouse Rave
Part rave, part surreal art experience, Oddyssey Noir is the city’s weirdest underground party happening every Saturday in May. Expect deep techno, wild costumes, secret locations (revealed 3 hours prior), and themed rooms full of interactive oddities.
The music will be curated in partnership with local artists and collectives, tapping into the city’s rich underground scene. It’s everything mainstream Vegas nightlife is not—and that’s the point.
Tickets can be purchased here.
High Season Begins at Antelope Canyon
May kicks off high season at Antelope Canyon, one of the most surreal natural landscapes in the U.S.—and possibly the world. This narrow slot canyon in northern Arizona is famous for its wave-like sandstone walls and the way beams of sunlight pierce through the cracks above, lighting up the passageways in a fiery glow.
May to September are peak months to witness those iconic light shafts and warmer, drier weather.
If you don’t have a car, no worries—plenty of full-day and overnight tours depart directly from Las Vegas and include transportation, a Navajo guide (required to enter the canyon), and often stops at nearby sights like Horseshoe Bend. You’ll spend a lot of time on the road, but trust me—once you’re inside the canyon, you’ll forget all about the drive.
Tips For Visiting Las Vegas In May
- If you plan on attending EDC, hopefully you’re reading this early enough to BOOK YOUR ACCOMMODATIONS EARLY! Room rates tend to skyrocket for EDC week as hotels host special DJ performances all week long.
- If you don’t plan on attending EDC or doing Cinco de Mayo things, try to plan your trip to avoid May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) weekend and EDC festival weekend.
- May is hot, and chances are you’ll be walking outdoors at some point or sitting by the pool. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhats, and all that jazz.
- If you plan on doing a lot of paid attractions, Go City can save you money on multiple attractions with their All-Inclusive Pass or Explorer Pass.
- Be sure to pack a pair of comfortable travel shoes that can handle lots of mileage and keep your feet blister-free.
- Traffic on the Las Vegas Strip is usually bad at all times of the year, so plan to leave earlier if you have reservations that require you to be somewhere at a specific time.
- Getting around by rideshare and taxi are equally as popular in Vegas. A taxi can even be cheaper than Uber/Lyft during peak hours, while an Uber/Lyft is cheaper during off-peak hours.
