Overall Winner: Objectively, it’s a tie, but we personally like Wynn more.

In our deep-dive analysis below, Wynn won three categories (rooms, amenities / entertainment, and user reviews), and Bellagio won three categories (location, restaurants, price).

Bellagio is the better option when it comes to being in the middle of all the action. In many cases, it’s also the more sensible choice if you have a trip budget you wanna stick to.

Wynn is the better option for people who appreciate the utmost luxury and have no budget in mind. And with direct access to XS and Encore Beach Club, it’s the better home base if you plan on doing a lot of partying!

If you ask us, we personally like Wynn better.

Bellagio, a 5-star oasis on the Las Vegas Strip, has been enchanting guests since its grand opening in 1998. As an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of MGM Resorts International, Bellagio stands as a AAA Five Diamond resort, epitomizing luxury and sophistication.

We’ve explored Bellagio more times than we can count. Bellagio is not just some hotel that you pop into for 20 minutes and move on to the next. There are so many cool things to see and do within the hotel — it’s one of the best hotels on the Strip to make your home base.

Then, there’s Wynn Las Vegas and its sister tower, Encore. People (including us!) LOVE staying at Wynn and Encore. The amount of luxury squeezed into one resort complex is hard to beat when it comes to the Vegas Strip… and maybe even worldwide.

With 24 Five-Star awards across all their hotels, spas and restaurants, Wynn Resorts holds more Five-Star designations than any independent hotel company in the world.

The “better” hotel for you will depend mostly on:

  • whether you care about your room size
  • how much you’re willing to spend on accommodations
  • whether you plan to watch the show offered at the hotels (O by Cirque du Soleil or Awakening)

Let’s talk about it in detail!

Bellagio vs. Wynn: Rooms

For an apples-to-apples comparison, we’ll be comparing the resorts’ standard suites here.

Rooms at Bellagio

Bellagio is always updating to stay on top of trends in Las Vegas. Back in 2015, they gave all of their nearly 4,000 rooms a big makeover, and just a few years later, they refreshed 2,568 rooms in the main tower.

The Spa Tower is currently being renovated with jewel tones inspired by Lake Como and the Alps, giving it a cozy, residential vibe.

If you’re a fan of good lighting, you’ll love the backlit mirrors surrounded by mother of pearl in the bathrooms. They’ve replaced bathtubs with spacious marble showers, and the whole redesign, inspired by Bellagio’s famous fountains, natural light, and the beauty of nature, gives the rooms a light and modern feel that’s a bit unexpected for Vegas.

The standard rooms are pretty spacious too, starting at 510 square feet.

Standard Suites: What most people will end up booking.

  • Standard 1-King Rooms at Bellagio are 510 sq ft.
  • Standard 2-Queen Rooms at Bellagio are 510 sq ft.

Rooms at Wynn Las Vegas

When it comes to resort rooms, Wynn Resorts takes things to the next level in terms of luxury.

In addition to high-end amenities and the softest, crispest bedding ever, Wynn rooms have elements that make you feel like you’re actually in a home rather than a hotel room.

The hotel is constantly upgrading, and Wynn recently unveiled a $200 million renovation of 2,700 guestrooms in Wynn and Wynn Tower Suites.

We were blown away when we saw what they did with the rooms! Prior to the renovations, the rooms used to be off-white/cream-colored in theme. Now, the rooms feature custom-designed furniture and wood accent walls that add a much more warm and inviting feel.

You can customize the lighting to suit your mood, and the bedside iPad controls everything from the TV to the drapes, lighting, and in-room dining. We also loved the enhanced storage and shelving in both the bedroom and bathroom to keep your personal items organized.

The beautifully lit bathrooms are a standout feature, with elegant shelves for your toiletries, stylish wallpaper, and unique pendant lights that create a retro yet ultra-luxe atmosphere.

Standard Suites: What most people will end up booking.

  • Standard 1-King Resort Rooms at Wynn are 640 sq ft.
  • Standard 2-Queen Resort Rooms at Wynn are 640 sq ft.
  • Standard 1-King Resort Rooms at Encore are 745 sq ft.
  • Standard 2-Queen Resort Rooms at Encore are 745 sq ft.

Winner: Wynn.

While the rooms at Bellagio and Wynn are both newly renovated and drop-dead gorgeous, we ultimately gave this one to Wynn due to the size of the room. Standard rooms at Wynn are 130 square feet larger, which means way more room to stretch out.

Bellagio vs. Wynn: Location

When it comes to location on the Strip, both Bellagio and Wynn have their perks, but they cater to slightly different itineraries.

Bellagio is right in the heart of the action, with major attractions like The Cosmopolitan, Caesars Palace, and The Shops at Crystals just steps away. This central location means you’re within easy walking distance to a variety of dining, shopping, and entertainment options.

Wynn, on the other hand, is situated a bit further north on the Strip. While it might feel a bit more secluded, it’s close to newer spots like Resorts World and Fontainebleau. However, the walk to the center of the Strip, especially in the heat, can be a bit of a trek from Wynn.

For sheer convenience to the most iconic Vegas attractions, Bellagio takes the win. Its central location makes it easier to explore the heart of the Strip without too much walking.

Winner: Bellagio.

Bellagio vs. Wynn: Entertainment + Amenities

This section looks at what the hotels offer in terms of things to do, pools, spas, etc. We’ll also call out all the good stuff that’s included with your nightly resort fee.

Entertainment and Amenities at Bellagio

Bellagio is all about elegance and iconic experiences. From its stunning fountains to world-class dining, there’s plenty to see and do.

Here’s an example of the resort amenities and entertainment options offered at the hotel:

  • The Fountains of Bellagio: A breathtaking water show set to music and lights. It’s one of the most famous free attractions on the Strip and a must-see for first-timers.
  • The Conservatory & Botanical Gardens: Each season, Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden’s 120 horticulturists, engineers, and designers create unbelievable displays.
  • Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art: A curated collection of rotating exhibitions featuring works from renowned artists around the world.
  • “O” by Cirque du Soleil: An aquatic masterpiece where acrobats, synchronized swimmers, and divers perform in and above a massive pool.
  • Bellagio Pools: Five Mediterranean-inspired pools surrounded by lush gardens, perfect for relaxation or a refreshing swim.
  • The Spa & Salon at Bellagio: Offering luxurious treatments and services, this spa is a sanctuary for those looking to unwind and rejuvenate.
  • THE PINKY RING BY BRUNO MARS: A one of a kind cocktail lounge, curated by an entertainer for your entertainment pleasure.
  • Mayfair Supper Club: A glamorous/swanky restaurant with live entertainment, reminiscent of the classic supper clubs of the past.
  • Buffet at Bellagio: An upscale dining experience with a wide variety of gourmet dishes, including fresh seafood, prime meats, and decadent desserts.

Entertainment and Amenities at Wynn Las Vegas

  • Free parking for hotel guests: This is a biggie for people with cars. Most hotels on the Strip charge for parking. Wynn is one of the last hotels that still offer free parking to hotel guests.
  • Wynn Esplanade: A luxury shopping destination featuring high-end brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Rolex.
  • Wynn Golf Club: An 18-hole championship golf course designed by Tom Fazio and Steve Wynn.
  • Lake of Dreams: A free nighttime show featuring a 40-foot waterfall, 4,000 lights, horticulture, music, and dazzling holographics.
  • Awakening: The best show in town, and we really mean it when we say it! This new-and-improved production combines fantasy characters, larger-than-life costumes, choreography, original music and a thrilling new story.
  • Buffet at Wynn: One of the top seafood buffets on the entire Strip. We like this one even more than Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars.
  • Encore Beach Club: A premier dayclub that transforms into a nightclub, constantly featuring top DJs every weekend.
  • XS Nightclub: One of the most renowned nightclubs in Las Vegas known for top-tier DJs that attract partygoers from around the world.
  • Wynn Pools: Pools and cabanas that’ll make you feel like you’re living in the setting of Alice In Wonderland. Pool areas have adults-only pools, poolside lounges and lilypads for rent, and snack bars.
  • Wynn and Encore Spas: With two Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award-winning spas, Wynn Las Vegas invites guests to rejuvenate in luxurious surroundings. Both spas offer a comprehensive range of treatments, including massages, facials, and wellness therapies.
  • A state-of-the-art gym: This fitness center is the largest and most well-stocked one we’ve seen on the Las Vegas Strip! It’s got a cardio section, free weights area, weight machines, and even classes.

Winner: Wynn.

While both resorts have their own version of a premium nightly show, a free-to-the-public show, a buffet, high-end spas, multiple pools, and bar experiences, the Wynn outshines Bellagio in a few other categories.

The Wynn has a state of the art gym that’s much better than Bellagio’s. Wynn is also home to XS and Encore Beach Club, two of the hottest places to party on the entire Strip. Staying at Wynn would give you easy/direct access to the dayclub and nightclub.

We also like the pool area at Wynn a lot better too. Shopping at Wynn is not that fun if you’re not on the hunt for luxury goods, but Fashion Show Mall (better for all kinds of budgets) is right across the street.

Bellagio vs. Wynn: Restaurants

Both resorts offer a ton of great places to eat, but there are some key differences. I’ll touch on Wynn first.

First and foremost, many of the restaurant options at The Wynn are world-famous. There’s SW Steakhouse, Wing Lei (a Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant), Mizumi for Japanese cuisine, and many other high-end dining options for guests to indulge and splurge at.

The Wynn gets extra points for having a truly “worth it” onsite buffet — The Buffet at Wynn. This is hands-down our favorite buffet on the entire Las Vegas Strip!

On the other hand is Bellagio. You’ll find about 20 restaurants in total, with a very small handful being casual eateries.

Most of the restaurants here are also quite bougie, including Spago, Le Cirque, LAGO by Julian Serrano, and PRIME Steakhouse. Bellagio has its own buffet too, but we think the buffet at Wynn is better.

However, Bellagio takes the dining experience to the next level with its fountainside restaurants.

The opportunity to dine right on Lago di Como adds a majestic touch to your dinner experience that’s hard to beat. You’ll find fountainside dining available at The Mayfair Supper Club, Spago, Lago by Julian Serrano, Le Cirque, Jasmine, and PRIME Steakhouse.

Ultimately, while both hotels offer mostly high-end dining, Bellagio edges out as the winner thanks to the unforgettable atmosphere of fountainside dining.

Winner: Bellagio.

Bellagio vs. Wynn: Price

You would think Bellagio and Wynn play in the same price category given that they’re both 5-star luxury hotels, but there’s actually a very big difference when it comes to room rates.

Sure they’re both 5-star hotels, but oftentimes you’ll see Wynn rooms going for a lot more money per night. Like $100+ per night or more.

Wynn is one of the highest-rated independent resort companies in the world, so their higher pricing is expected. Since the more economical option is Bellagio, we’re giving this one to Bellagio.

PRO TIP: Don’t forget to factor in resort fees and parking fees. Bellagio charges for both, while Wynn only charges a resort fee (parking is free for hotel guests at Wynn).

Winner: Bellagio.

Bellagio vs. Wynn: Hotel Reviews

At the time of researching for this guide, here’s what we found when it came to user reviews on various hotel booking sites that we know and trust:

Hotel SiteBellagioWynn Las Vegas

8.9/10

Across the board, Wynn is the hotel that gets the higher marks and ratings.

This totally makes sense. Wynn is the reigning king in the hospitality world. Having stayed at both hotels ourselves, we’d agree with this overall rating. Luxury at Wynn is second to none!

Winner: The Wynn.

Overall Winner

It’s a tie. The Wynn won three categories (rooms, amenities / entertainment, and user reviews), and Bellagio won three categories (location, restaurants, price).

Since both hotels are top-notch options, we don’t have a clear-cut winner/loser situation. One hotel is better for some scenarios while the other is better for other situations.

You might be asking, “But that doesn’t really answer the overarching question! Which is better — Bellagio or Wynn???”

Because both resorts offer so much to hotel guests (restaurant variety, free and paid shows, nightlife experiences, spas, etc.), we think your decision really boils down to three things:

  • whether you care about your room size
  • how much you’re willing to spend on accommodations
  • whether you plan to watch the show offered at the hotels (O by Cirque du Soleil or Awakening)

Bellagio is the better hotel for you if:

  • You care about luxury but still have a budget in mind (this is the cheaper of the two)
  • You want to be in the heart of the action on the Strip
  • You plan on exploring a lot on foot (Bellagio is a lot more centrally located than Wynn)
  • You love the idea of dining with a view of the iconic Fountains of Bellagio
  • You’re a fan of classic Las Vegas elegance and sophistication
  • You’re planning to see the “O” by Cirque du Soleil show

Wynn is the better hotel for you if:

  • You can afford the higher room rates
  • You want to be near all the party action, day and night (XS Nightclub, Encore Beach Club, XS Night Swim)
  • You want a larger room (the standard rooms are larger here compared to Bellagio)
  • You plan on watching Awakening
  • You plan on enjoying some of the North Strip attractions
  • You have a car with you (Wynn offers hotel guests free parking)

If budget is of no concern to you, we’d recommend Wynn all the way. Every time we’ve stayed there, we’ve never wanted to leave the room. The rooms are massive, bathrooms are pretty, and the beds are SO comfortable!

Traveling with a budget in mind? Then Bellagio is the better and more sensible option. The rooms are still larger than most other hotel rooms on the Strip, and room rates are often cheaper than you’ll find at Wynn.

Still stuck between the two? If you really can’t pick between the two, you should just book whichever one is showing a cheaper price. Pocket your savings, spend it on one of Las Vegas’ new shows or attractions, or spend it on an epic seafood buffet.

Our Pick: Which One We Like More

If you were to offer us an all-expenses paid vacation, we’d pick Wynn.

But if you were to ask us to pay for our own room? We’d have to go with Bellagio.

There’s nothing wrong with Bellagio by any means (it’s a wonderful hotel), but Wynn is the clear winner when it comes to luxury.

Their buffet is way better, their show (Awakening) is less expensive yet MUCH more exciting than “O” at Bellagio, and you have direct access to some of the best partying hotspots the Strip can offer.

During our most recent stay at Wynn for my mom’s birthday, we planned to watch Awakening (highly recommend!). Being based at the same hotel where the show was playing was a game-changer. We simply took the elevator down about five minutes before showtime, avoiding the hassle of traffic and dealing with Ubers or taxis.

Oh yeah, the room was a 10/10 experience. It was perfection.

With all that said, if you have the budget for Wynn, go with Wynn.
