Heading to Las Vegas in April? April is quite the time to be in Vegas!

With pool party season in full swing, a handful of food-related festivals, and Las Vegas’ largest beer festival taking place this month, it’ll be hard to ignore the high energy and almost-summer vibes pumping throughout the Las Vegas Strip.

From hiking at Valley Of Fire State Park to catching epic shows by the likes of Carrey Underwood and Lionel Richie to enjoying the spectacular springtime display at the Bellagio Conservatory, use this guide to discover all that the month of April brings to Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS: YEAR-ROUND MUST-DO’S

Explore Old Las Vegas

Go beyond the Strip and spend some time in Old Las Vegas (aka Downtown LV), where you’ll find eclectic fun such as the Neon Museum, antique malls, quirky local businesses and some surprisingly excellent coffee. And if you’re a pizza person, come hungry… this part of town has a pretty impressive lineup of New York-style pizza that’s worth the detour.

See Absinthe, Vegas’ #1 show

Often hailed as one of Las Vegas’ must-see shows, Absinthe is an adults-only circus-meets-cabaret spectacle that packs outrageous comedy, acrobatics and seriously impressive acts into an intimate tent outside Caesars Palace. It’s so fun and raunchy, and very Vegas. Personally, we think it’s 10x better than a Cirque du Soleil-style show.

Make a Night of AREA15

AREA15 can’t be distilled down to just one definition. It’s essentially an entire playground for adults looking for something weird and fun to do after dark. For starters, you can spend an afternoon or evening bouncing between attractions like Universal Horror Unleashed for year-round scares, John Wick Experience for movie buffs, or Omega Mart for campy, psychedelic weirdness.

Looking for more of a nightlife scene? AREA15 also hosts regular parties, DJs and dancing, so definitely check out their entertainment calendar often.

April Weather In Las Vegas

  • Average Temps in April: high of 79° F, low of 57° F
  • Average Rainfall: 1 day, 0.2 inches
  • Humidity: 25%

The sun is shining, pool season is going strong, and the weather is starting to really feel like “Las Vegas” weather. In general, you can expect warm daytime weather and cooler nights, but despite average daytime temps of 79° F, much hotter days (like 90° F days) can be common depending on the year.

If you’re planning to do outdoor activities in April, be sure to keep an eye on the weather and pack accordingly (sunhats, cold water, sunscreen, electrolytes, etc.)!

Foodieland Night Market

Foodieland is exactly what it sounds like. A temporary land created specifically for foodies!

FoodieLand is taking place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway again this mid-April. With over 230+ vendors, they are bringing you a variety of amazing multicultural foods, arts, crafts, games, and entertainment for the whole family.

Tickets are $6 and only available through Eventbrite. Free admission for children under 5.

Vegas Unstripped Food Festival

Is April the month of food events? We’re starting to think so…

If you’re a foodie, this is the event you don’t want to miss. Vegas Unstripped brings together 30+ of Las Vegas’ most talented chefs—many of whom are behind the city’s most creative and under-the-radar restaurants—for one night of food, drink, and no-holds-barred culinary experimentation.

Your ticket includes unlimited bites and beverages (yes, cocktails too) from some of the best in the city, all set outdoors under the palms at the Palms Casino. Think names like John Arena (Metro Pizza), Jamie Tran (The Black Sheep), and Gina Marinelli (La Strega)—plus bartenders from Golden Tiki, Carver Road, and more.

See the seasonal displays at the Bellagio Conservatory

Bellagio Conservatory Fall 24
One of the Fall displays we caught recently! So fantastical.

One must-see attraction in April is the Spring display at the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. The Spring display has got to be my absolute favorite of all the themed displays throughout the year. It’s over-the-top, colorful, and pays homage to flowers, nature, and all things spring!

This year, you’ll find massive butterflies, hummingbirds, flowers, tea cups, and everything you can imagine from a garden tea party. While you’re here, visit the Bellagio Fountains and catch the free water show display.

Attend Las Vegas’ largest beer festival

Beer Festival

Great Vegas Festival of Beer, the largest beer festival in Las Vegas takes over the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on April 3, 2027. Enjoy unlimited sips of craft beer and cider by breweries from around the country all afternoon long. You can also pair your beers with good food from a variety of food trucks.

On top of all of that, you get the chance to meet chefs and enjoy fun entertainment, including a silent disco!

Clark County Fair & Rodeo

If you want to see a very different side of Nevada beyond the Strip, make the drive to Logandale for the Clark County Fair & Rodeo (April 7-11, 2027).

This longtime community tradition brings together the Western spirit of the region with five days of PRCA rodeo action, livestock exhibits, carnival rides, live entertainment and all the gloriously indulgent fair food you’d expect.

The fair traces its roots back to 1965, when it began as the Moapa Valley Fair, and has grown into one of the area’s biggest annual community events.

You can watch cowboys compete in traditional rodeo events, check out the livestock and agricultural exhibits, then wander the carnival midway for rides and games. It’s a particularly fun addition to a Las Vegas trip if you’re traveling with kids or want to trade the electric billboards and 24/7 casinos for a taste of Nevada’s ranching and agricultural roots.

The fair runs for five days, so check the event schedule before you go — rodeo events, entertainment and other activities vary by day.

Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend

Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend is the ultimate throwback party for lovers of all things vintage, retro, and rock ‘n’ roll.

Held at The Orleans Hotel & Casino from April 8–11, 2027, this four-day festival draws over 20,000 people from around the world for nonstop music, classic car shows, tiki pool parties, burlesque, and vintage shopping.

With 100+ rockabilly bands and DJs, jiving classes, pin-up contests, and even a tattoo lounge, it’s like stepping back into the 1950s—only in true Las Vegas style! If you’re into hot rods, high hair, and dancing ‘til 2am, this is your scene.

Experience the show at The Sphere

If you’ve driven on the highways of Las Vegas, chances are you’ve seen The Sphere. The Sphere Experience is a two-part multi-sensory experience lasting approximately two hours. In all honesty, it’s two hours of immersive amazement.

Again, there are two parts to the experience. First, you’ll get to explore The Atrium. There’s a 360-degree avatar capture, a mesmerizing 50-foot holographic installation, and a few other cool tech features.

Then, brace yourself for an immersive cinematic experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen with Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Postcard from Earth.’ This specially commissioned film is a sci-fi portrait of our planet, leveraging Sphere’s cutting-edge technologies to transport you to new worlds without ever leaving your seat.

Holo Holo Fest

It’s no secret that Las Vegas is often considered the Ninth Island (of Hawaii). As such, it only makes sense that at least one of the few Holo Holo Music Festival events takes place here! This is the leading music festival for fans of Island Reggae and Polynesian music artists.

Previous years have included Common Kings, Kolohe Kai, Iam Tongi, The Wide Eyed Kids, J Boog, Maoli, L.A.B., Rebel SoulJahz, Tenelle, The Green, Fiji, and Koauka.

Festival Dates: 2027 dates TBD

Attend a pool party

Ayu Dayclub Resorts World

Perhaps the most exciting thing about spring (other than seeing the new display at the Bellagio Conservatory of course) is the fact that pool party season is back, baby!

If your idea of an awesome daytime activity includes lounging around the pool, dancing to live music played by top DJs, drinking summer cocktails, and gorging on delicious poolside chicken tenders, then you’ll probably want to plan to hit up a day club on your Vegas trip!

Pool party season at the day clubs runs from April to the end of October. Encore Beach Club at Encore Las Vegas, Daylight at Mandalay Bay, Ayu Dayclub at Resorts World, TAO Beach Club at The Venetian, and WET Republic at MGM Grand are some of the most sought-after pool parties across the Strip.

If you want to live it up Vegas-style, book a cabana for the ultimate dayclub experience (if you’ve got the budget for it).

What does a cabana rental get you?

When you rent out a cabana at a dayclub, you’ll typically get exclusive access to a private shaded area with comfortable seating, including plush sofas and lounge chairs. You’ll also get dedicated waitstaff or hosts who provide exceptional personalized service, including bottle service and assistance with food orders. At some dayclubs, you’ll also find a flat-screen TV (for those of you who want to party and watch the game at the same time) and even water misters to keep you and your squad cool as cucumbers in the desert heat.

Walk the Strip and see the iconic sights

Bellagio Fountain Show

Cooler weather means you’ll last longer when walking the Strip. After all, you won’t have 100-degree sunlight beating down on you during the month of April!

This is the perfect time to see and do all the iconic Las Vegas attractions you’ve had on your list, such as seeing the Bellagio Fountain show, cruising on a gondola ride at The Venetian, ziplining on Fly LINQ, and more.

If you’re daring enough, head to the north side of the Strip to try out the hair-raising SkyJump at The STRAT. This heart-pumping open-air bungee jump will see you hurtling at speeds of up to 40mph from a height of 855 feet!

Explore AREA15

When night falls, it’s time to get immersive at AREA15. AREA15 has got to be one of the coolest additions to Las Vegas, like ever!

This 200,000-square-foot immersive art collective is buzzing with all things creative and imaginative. Throw an ax or two, play games at an arcade bar, wander through a ‘supermarket’ that makes you question reality, take in high-tech / colorful art installations, or explore one of the many virtual reality experiences.

From retro to futuristic to totally trippy, there’s an experience for everyone at AREA15. Engage with the exhibits, dive into virtual reality experiences, or simply wander through and take in the eclectic environment. The AREA15 world is your oyster!

Learn more about the current exhibits here (many of them require separate tickets). If special events and concerts are what you’re after, check out their events calendar to see what’s happening during the dates of your trip to Vegas.

See a Las Vegas show

Awakening Wynn Las Vegas

Las Vegas has a world-class theater scene. From burlesque to magic, Cirque de Soleil to comedy, there is a show for every type of person and every sort of budget. And the best part is, there’s a show happening every single night in Vegas.

A few shows that we think are perfect for April include:

Awakening – The Wynn’s brand-new spectacular production featuring fantastical creatures, dazzling visuals, compelling narrative, and a touch of lighthearted comedy.

Absinthe – Caesars Palace’s daring and provocative Las Vegas show that combines jaw-dropping acrobatics, risqué comedy, and awe-inspiring feats of strength and agility in an immersive circus-style setting.

“O” at Bellagio: Another mesmerizing Cirque du Soleil show, “O” combines water, acrobatics, and theatrical performances to create a unique and romantic experience.

Explore Red Rock Canyon

Red Rocks - GoVegas Guide
Papu and I hiking the Calico Basin area.

If you’re looking for the perfect outdoor adventure that’s not too hot, Red Rock Canyon in April is where it’s at. Red Rock Canyon is locally famous for its unique rock formations painted in shades of red and orange against a backdrop of clear blue skies.

Plus, with temperatures that can warm up to the mid-80s during the day, you can explore to your heart’s content without worrying about overheating.

We like to go there for the hiking. There are both easy and challenging trails to choose from, making this a great option if you want to burn off all those Las Vegas buffet calories. Some of the most popular hikes here include the Calico Tanks Trail (2.2 miles roundtrip), Turtlehead Peak Trail (4.6 miles roundtrip), and Ice Box Canyon Trail (2.3 miles roundtrip).

If you’d rather not deal with the logistics of how to get there (or want to visit the park without hiking), there are tour companies that will take you there and show you the park in all its glory.

Go hiking at Valley of Fire State Park

Valley Of Fire State Park

Another otherworldly park to hike at is Valley of Fire State Park. If you can imagine yourself hiking among towering sandstone formations glowing with fiery hues of red and gold under the warm winter sun, this park is for you. Personally, this is one of my favorite parks in all of Nevada — I love it even more than the Grand Canyon!

It’s like walking through a natural wonderland straight out of a dream! Again, the weather in April is perfect for exploring miles of hiking trails and marveling at ancient petroglyphs etched into the rocks. Just be sure to pack lots of water, lots of sunscreen, and a sunhat!

If you only have time to do one hike, make it the 3.2-mile Fire Wave, White Domes, and Seven Wonders Loop. If you love hiking, make time to visit Valley Of Fire SP – you won’t regret it.

Visit a national park or two

Grand Canyon National Park

If you’re open to venturing out further, you’ll be glad to know that there are at least three national parks within driving distance from Las Vegas.

From Vegas, you can easily visit Grand Canyon National Park and explore the breathtaking landscapes of the United States’ most recognizable natural monument.

If you’re up for a longer adventure, a 2.5-hour drive will bring you to the spectacular views of Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park.

These two parks showcase the wild landscapes of Utah, complete with orange-y red canyons, mountains, hoodoos (spindly rock formations), the world-famous Narrows hike and Angels Landing, and the famous Checkerboard Mesa.

Don’t have a car? Not a problem. There are lots of tour companies that’ll bring you out there as part of a full-day tour. They’ll take care of the driving and the itinerary so all you have to do is bring your camera, a comfortable pair of shoes, and your excitement.

Tips For Visiting Las Vegas In April

  • Although daytime temperatures can be warm and pleasant, evenings can still get cool. Pack layers to stay comfortable throughout the day and into the night, especially if you plan to be out late.
  • Even though the weather in April is not “blazing desert” hot just yet, the sun will still be shining brightly during the day. Sunscreen is a must, especially if you’re doing outdoor activities.
  • First time in Las Vegas? Visiting with kids? If you plan on doing a lot of paid attractions, Go City can save you money on multiple attractions with their All-Inclusive Pass or Explorer Pass.
  • April is the perfect time to explore The Strip on foot. The weather is warm, but not heat-stroke-hot. Be sure to pack a pair of comfortable travel shoes that can handle lots of mileage and keep your feet blister-free.
  • Traffic on the Las Vegas Strip is usually bad at all times of the year, so plan to leave earlier if you have reservations that require you to be somewhere at a specific time.
  • Getting around by rideshare and taxi are equally as popular in Vegas. A taxi can even be cheaper than Uber/Lyft during peak hours, while an Uber/Lyft is cheaper during off-peak hours.
