Planning a trip to Las Vegas can be so exciting—bright lights, world-class entertainment, and a chance to walk, eat, and party on the iconic Las Vegas Strip.

But if you’ve started researching hotels, you’ve probably found yourself a great rate at $30-50 per night, only to realize at checkout they’ve tacked on an additional $50 per night for the “resort fee”. UGH.

What does this resort fee cover anyway? The swimming pool? It’s so frustrating, but we totally get it. We hate ’em too.

The good news is that not every hotel in Las Vegas charges these pesky fees. We’ve done the legwork to find the best hotels on and off the Strip that don’t charge resort fees, so you can enjoy your stay without those unexpected costs.

This guide is broken down into two sections — (click to jump to the section)

Vegas Hotels: No Resort Fees + Free Parking

Jockey Club

Category: 3-star | Price range: $$

The Jockey Club is one of the rare hotels located on the Las Vegas Strip that does not charge parking OR resort fees. In addition to those highly lucrative perks, it’s also super centrally located!

This hotel is located on the Las Vegas Strip between the City Center and the Bellagio. It’s connected to The Cosmopolitan and is a total hidden gem!

While the rooms could use a bit of an update, you can’t beat the Center Strip location. And if rooms ranging from 650 to 1,110 square feet isn’t enough, the hotel also features an outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna, and a well-equipped gym.

There’s even a mini fridge in your room, so you can store any leftovers and keep those drinks you have cold.

Location-wise, this hotel is the best on this list if being on the Strip is what you’re after.

Marriott Grand Chateau

Category: 3.5-star | Price range: $$

This hotel is a personal favorite of ours whenever we need to be in Vegas for special events that don’t involve the Strip.

Located just a 10-15 minute walk from the Las Vegas Strip, this non-gaming and nonsmoking condo-style hotel is perfect for people who need to be in Vegas without wanting to be in all of the debauchery that the Strip brings. The hotel does not have a casino, which is a real perk for people who want a quieter environment without walking through a smoky casino.

Guests enjoy spacious villa-style accommodations with full kitchens. You’ll find a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, and toaster. There is also silverware, cups, drinking glasses, and all the kitchen supplies you need to actually live (including sponges, dish soap and paper towels).

The lobby is large and bright with several bars, restaurants, and a snack shop.

Fees: No resort fee + free parking

Walking Distance From The Strip? Yes

Desert Rose Resort

Category: 3-star | Price range: $$

Desert Rose Resort is less than 2 blocks from the Las Vegas Strip but somehow completely avoids the casino atmosphere.

This hotel features spacious suite-style rooms with full kitchenettes, perfect for families, large groups, or longer stays. The kitchen feature is awesome and supplies everything you’d want a real kitchen to be equipped with, including a coffee machine, a big refrigerator, and a stove/oven.

The hotel also has a pool area, fitness center, and even a barbeque area.

Fees: No resort fee + free parking

Walking Distance From The Strip? Yes

Club Wyndham Grand Desert Resort

Category: 3.5-star | Price range: $$

The Wyndham Grand Desert Resort has a whole lot going for it. While it isn’t directly on the strip, it sure is close!

This hotel offers truly spacious one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites that come with kitchenettes with a refrigerator, toaster, and microwave. With these apartment-style accommodations, you’re going to be getting a lot more room compared to traditional hotels on the Strip.

It offers 3 outdoor pools and even free shuttles to the Strip if you don’t feel like walking the 0.5 miles (10-minute walk) to get there.

Don’t want to spend too much time away from the hotel? No worries, there’s a lot to keep you occupied here. In addition to the outdoor pools, guests can relax in one of the 4 hot tubs, take advantage of the massage services, work out at the gym or hang out in the games room!

The Carriage House

Category: 3-star | Price range: $$

The Carriage House considers themselves “the best-kept secret of Las Vegas” — and we’d have to agree with that statement.

This charming hotel is located just 4 minutes’ drive from the Las Vegas Strip. Don’t have a car? Not a problem. It’s walking distance from the Strip — plus, the Horseshoe/Paris Las Vegas Monorail Station is a 5-minute walk away. So convenient!

This family-owned hotel offers a home-y and welcoming experience for visitors looking to enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer — without the added expense of resort fees!

The hotel features a hot tub, fitness center, and outdoor pool, providing guests with plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind after a day of exploring Sin City.

Hotel Jefe

Category: 3-star | Price range: $

Located near the North Las Vegas area, Hotel Jefe at Ojos Locos offers updated rooms (with lots of light/white furnishings) that aren’t hard on the wallet at all.

Aside from a massive parking lot that is totally free to use, you’ll find an on-site casino, coffee shop/cafe, and nightclub — everything you need for a complete Vegas stay away from the Strip!

While Hotel Jefe is NOT within walking distance from the Strip, it’s still a great hotel if you’ve rented a car for your trip. A stay here puts you within a 10-minute drive of Golden Nugget Casino, Fremont Street, and the rest of Downtown LV.

The seasonal outdoor pool is a great spot to take a dip, and guests can grab a bite to eat at Ojos Locos Sports Cantina, which serves Mexican cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner.

Which no resort fee hotel is best if I want to be close to the Strip?

You have two great options here: Casino Royale or Jockey Club.

Casino Royale is directly next to The Venetian and Harrah’s Las Vegas is right across the street. Just a quick stroll from Casino Royale is The LINQ and its sprawling outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment district (with the High Roller observation wheel, Fly LINQ zipline, restaurants, and bars).

Jockey Club is located next to The Cosmopolitan and Bellagio, both of which are super fun to stroll through and explore. A short walk away is ARIA, home to the Shops at Crystals, lots of high-end restaurants, and immersive art installations. Just across the street, Planet Hollywood offers good shopping (at Miracle Mile Shops) and budget-friendly shows.

Which no resort fee hotel is best if I want to be close to Fremont Street?

Four Queens is the only Vegas hotel without resort fees that we approve of near Fremont Street. Other options are way dumpier and not worth your time. If you’re planning on doing some cheap gambling, enjoying happy hours and cheap drink specials, or checking out the Fremont Street Experience while you’re in Vegas, this is where you should stay.
