Get ready for a unique entertainment experience at Blue Man Group, a show created in 1991 by friends Chris Wink, Phil Stanton, and Matt Goldman. This dynamic blend of art, music, comedy, and technology has become a global phenomenon, seen by over 35 million people in 20 countries!
The company currently operates resident shows in New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Chicago, Orlando, and Berlin, as well as two touring productions.
At the Luxor Theater right here in Las Vegas, you’ll encounter the iconic bald and blue characters known as the Blue Men. Expect a show that really has no theme, other than the fact that they’re blue.
Vague, I know… but to help paint the picture of what you might see at a typical BMG show, here are some types of acts you might experience:
- Percussion Performances: Blue Man Group is renowned for its use of custom-made instruments and unconventional percussion techniques. The Blue Men often create rhythmic and melodic beats using pipes, drums, and other non-traditional instruments.
- Visual Comedy: The Blue Men communicate non-verbally, so expect visual comedy that relies on facial expressions, gestures, and physical humor.
- Glow-in-the-Dark Art: Utilizing UV lights and special paint, the Blue Men create really cool artwork that appears to glow in the dark.
- Interactive Technology: Blue Man Group integrates cutting-edge technology into its shows. Think interactive screens and giant smartphones.
- Audience Participation: Audience members often become part of the show, whether it’s participating in a percussion jam, being part of a comedic skit, or interacting with the Blue Men themselves!
- Marshmallow Catch: The Blue Men catch marshmallows in their mouths! This one’s a popular skit for the whole fam.
- Paint Drums: The Blue Men might use paint-covered drums to create art through rhythmic drumming.
- Banana Eating: Yep, there’s even banana eating in the show. Random, but so entertaining!
As you can see, there are a ton of elements involved in the show. Music, art, tech, comedy, and banana eating — the kids are probably going to have as much of a blast as you are! So, if you’re seeking an unconventional and memorable evening, Blue Man Group at Luxor might just be your ticket.
