Foodieland Night Market

Foodieland is exactly what it sounds like. A temporary land created specifically for foodies!

FoodieLand is taking place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway between Mar 29-31 this year. With over 230+ vendors, they are bringing you a variety of amazing multicultural foods, arts, crafts, games, and entertainment for the whole family.

Tickets are $6 and only available through Eventbrite. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Free admission for children under 5.

See the seasonal displays at the Bellagio Conservatory

One must-see attraction in March is the rotating display at the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Every year during March, depending on when you are in Vegas, you get to enjoy one of two massive displays of plants, flowers, and over-the-top decor.

If your trip brings you to Vegas in the first week of March, you get to enjoy the bright and festive Lunar New Year display.

In the past years, we’ve seen epic Year of the Rabbit and Year of the Dragon displays, and all of them are worth seeing with your own eyes. They are incredibly grand!

For the remainder of March, they swap it out for a new spring theme. The 2024 Spring display will run from March 9 to May 18th. It features thousands of plants and flowers and creates a beautiful springtime setting!

March Madness

March Madness in Las Vegas is an electrifying experience for sports fans and partygoers alike. During this time, the city transforms into a NCAA college basketball haven, with numerous bars, sportsbooks, and casinos hosting viewing parties and special events.

Fans from all over the USA gather to watch the games on large screens, cheer for their favorite teams, and enjoy unlimited food and drink packages. Many hotels and resorts on the Strip and downtown area offer special packages and promotions, including discounted room rates, themed parties, and exclusive access to viewing lounges.

To experience March Madness at some of the most happening venues, head to the sportsbook area at Westgate Las Vegas or Circa Resort & Casino. At these massive sportsbooks, you’ll have literally everything you want to experience March Madness at its finest — endless betting options, giant high-definition TVs everywhere, promotions and giveaways, and food and beverage specials to pair with the excitement.

Circa’s Stadium Swim is where you want to be if you want to pair an epic pool day with basketball watching. The venue features stadium-style seating with beach chairs, six temperature-controlled pools, two swim-up bars, and a massive 143-foot-long screen, making it the largest pool screen in the world.

Reserved seating is highly, highly recommended because of how popular March Madness events get throughout the month! Be sure to claim your spot as far in advance as possible so you won’t miss any of the action.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Vegas-style

St. Patrick’s Day in Las Vegas is yet another reason to party! You won’t find a better place to be than Las Vegas on St. Patrick’s Day, which is on March 17.

Expect green beer specials and drink specials for Jameson lovers, Irish music, and festive cheer everywhere you turn. The city comes alive with themed events and parties happening throughout the Strip, downtown area, and various bars and pubs.

Expect to see people dressed in green attire, lively parades, and special performances by Irish bands and dancers. The most famous event is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival, which features colorful floats, marching bands, and cultural performances.

Additionally, many bars and nightclubs offer drink specials, themed menus, and live entertainment to keep the party going late into the night.

For starters on where to drink, O’Sheas Pub (a longstanding local institution) at The LINQ Promenade is NOT to be missed. They have lively beer pong tournies! You can also head to Rí Rá Irish Pub at Mandalay Bay, Nine Fine Irishmen at New York, New York, or Hennessey’s Tavern at the Fremont Street Experience.

If all else fails, just walk the Fremont Street Experience — you’ll be able to find green beer almost anywhere!

Walk the Strip and see the iconic sights

Cooler weather means you’ll last longer when walking the Strip. After all, you won’t have 100-degree sunlight beating down on you during March!

This is the perfect time to see and do all the iconic Las Vegas attractions you’ve had on your list, such as seeing the Bellagio Fountain show, cruising on a gondola ride at The Venetian, ziplining on Fly LINQ, and more.

If you’re daring enough, head to the north side of the Strip to try out the hair-raising SkyJump at The STRAT. This heart-pumping open-air bungee jump will see you hurtling at speeds of up to 40mph from a height of 855 feet!

Explore AREA15

When night falls, it’s time to get immersive at AREA15. AREA15 has got to be one of the coolest additions to Las Vegas, like ever!

This 200,000-square-foot immersive art collective is buzzing with all things creative and imaginative. Throw an ax or two, play games at an arcade bar, wander through a ‘supermarket’ that makes you question reality, take in high-tech / colorful art installations, or explore one of the many virtual reality experiences.

From retro to futuristic to totally trippy, there’s an experience for everyone at AREA15. Engage with the exhibits, dive into virtual reality experiences, or simply wander through and take in the eclectic environment. The AREA15 world is your oyster!

See a Las Vegas show

Las Vegas has a world-class theater scene. From burlesque to magic, Cirque de Soleil to comedy, there is a show for every type of person and every sort of budget. And the best part is, there’s a show happening every single night in Vegas.

A few shows that we think are perfect for March include:

Awakening – The Wynn’s brand-new spectacular production featuring fantastical creatures, dazzling visuals, compelling narrative, and a touch of lighthearted comedy.

Absinthe – Caesars Palace’s daring and provocative Las Vegas show that combines jaw-dropping acrobatics, risqué comedy, and awe-inspiring feats of strength and agility in an immersive circus-style setting.

“O” at Bellagio: Another mesmerizing Cirque du Soleil show, “O” combines water, acrobatics, and theatrical performances to create a unique and romantic experience.

Explore Red Rock Canyon

If you’re looking for the perfect early March adventure that’s not too hot, Red Rock Canyon is where it’s at. Red Rock Canyon is locally famous for its unique rock formations painted in shades of red and orange against a backdrop of clear blue skies.

Plus, with temperatures that can warm up to the mid-70s during the day, you can explore to your heart’s content without worrying about overheating. During the month of March, Red Rock comes alive with both day hikers and rock climbers!

We like to go there for the hiking. There are both easy and challenging trails to choose from, making this a great option if you want to burn off all those Las Vegas buffet calories. Some of the most popular hikes here include the Calico Tanks Trail (2.2 miles roundtrip), Turtlehead Peak Trail (4.6 miles roundtrip), and Ice Box Canyon Trail (2.3 miles roundtrip).

If you’d rather not deal with the logistics of how to get there (or want to visit the park without hiking), there are tour companies that will take you there and show you the park in all its glory.

Go hiking at Valley of Fire State Park

Another otherworldly park to hike at is Valley of Fire State Park. If you can imagine yourself hiking among towering sandstone formations glowing with fiery hues of red and gold under the warm winter sun, this park is for you. Personally, this is one of my favorite parks in all of Nevada — I love it even more than the Grand Canyon!

It’s like walking through a natural wonderland straight out of a dream! Again, the weather in March is perfect for exploring miles of hiking trails and marveling at ancient petroglyphs etched into the rocks.

If you only have time to do one hike, make it the 3.2-mile Fire Wave, White Domes, and Seven Wonders Loop. If you love hiking, make time to visit Valley Of Fire SP – you won’t regret it.

Visit a national park or two

If you’re open to venturing out further, you’ll be glad to know that there are at least three national parks within driving distance from Las Vegas.

From Vegas, you can easily visit Grand Canyon National Park and explore the breathtaking landscapes of the United States’ most recognizable natural monument.

If you’re up for a longer adventure, a 2.5-hour drive will bring you to the spectacular views of Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park.

These two parks showcase the wild landscapes of Utah, complete with orange-y red canyons, mountains, hoodoos (spindly rock formations), the world-famous Narrows hike and Angels Landing, and the famous Checkerboard Mesa.

Don’t have a car? Not a problem. There are lots of tour companies that’ll bring you out there as part of a full-day tour. They’ll take care of the driving and the itinerary so all you have to do is bring your camera, a comfortable pair of shoes, and your excitement.

Skiing and snowboarding at Mount Charleston

Would you be shocked if we told you there was snow in the Las Vegas area? Yes! Despite being a flat desert for the most part, you will still find mountains in the area, perfect for all your winter sports adventures.

Lucky for you, the Lee Canyon Ski and Snowboard Resort at Mount Charleston is only 50 miles from the Strip.

The best months to hit the slopes at Mt. Charleston typically range from December to March, but it largely depends on the weather conditions and snowfall during that particular year.

The snow on the mountain begins to melt as temperatures rise in the spring months, typically starting in March or April. Some years may see snow lingering into late March or even early April, which is good news for winter sports lovers!

Tips For Visiting Las Vegas In March

• Although daytime temperatures can be warm and pleasant, evenings can still get chilly. Pack layers to stay comfortable throughout the day and into the night, especially if you plan to be out late.
• Even though the weather is not blazing desert hot just yet, the sun is usually still shining brightly during the day. Sunscreen is a must, especially if you’re doing outdoor activities.
• If you plan on doing a lot of paid attractions, Go City can save you money on multiple attractions with their All-Inclusive Pass or Explorer Pass.
• Las Vegas is a popular destination in March because of March Madness. Book restaurants and shows in advance!
• Traffic on the Las Vegas Strip is usually bad at all times of the year, so plan to leave earlier if you have reservations that require you to be somewhere at a specific time.
• Getting around by rideshare and taxi are equally as popular in Vegas. A taxi can even be cheaper than Uber/Lyft during peak hours, while an Uber/Lyft is cheaper during off-peak hours.
